Where in the world would you ever see five blokes from different walks of life enjoy a windsurf together?
Thanks Hardie, Elmo, Grumples and Miller.
Lets get some waves next time

Yeah, I generally don't mix with working class folk so when I windsurf it really brings u down to earth, how others live etc..

Our sport is great. It lifts the soul better than any church, it raises the sailor's conscience into alignment with the 2 more gentle elements (wind and water), it strengthens and stretches the body without a gym, it challenges the whole person and pushes them to overcome fear and limitations, it teaches patience, it teaches humility, it makes you feel alive, and sometimes it makes you swim. It's pretty well zen when you think about it, but its f***kin great fun.

And it doesnt hurt any fish or animal (appart from the sailor now and then), there is no entrance fee (appart from equipment costs), you don’t get booked for going faster, its generally not too competitive, we don’t get in the way of traffic (like cycling), we don’t pollute, there is no conceited "I'm so cool" culture like in surfing, and although footy is alright we don’t role around the paddock having a cuddle. What more could you want aside from what you get when you go home...

What you get when you get home?

Do you mean "WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO MOW THE LAWN" or

"YOU'RE ALWAYS OUT WITH YOUR MATES"

Yes very enjoyable when the conditions were pretty crappy, just being out there with a great bunch of blokes made it special

Yes lets do wave next time!!!!!! Though our sympathies must go out to poor Elmo who's feeling so crap (has serious Virus), and won't be able to join us in a wave sail, most of us wouldn't even go near the water if we felt as bad as Elmo............

Yeah hats off to Elmo who relly goes hard and is always so stoked no matter what... never complains
And simpathy to Grumpy Bum who actually composed himself quite well considering he ELMO'D his brand spank-me-new board
And to Miller who drives for a living had to spend a 2 hour round trip just to use his flat water gear
Don't worry Miller I feel your pain only I dont have flat water gear and had to struggle with my wave stuff
And to the Hardie who is just stoked to have tuned his formular board just the way he likes it
Oh yeah and for our Poor Relative who is struggling for his next meal. Please keep him in your prayers and feel free to make a donation to the homeless fund. Or you can just visit him down the ally beside Myer in the city.
This is his family portrait on CHRISTmas eve. Notice he is all alone.

My dear sweet reli, yes you are part of our spiritual family, your psychological profile is pathological enough to fit in perfectly, however the sport you practice, has the ability to shame us, faster, higher, further etc, therefore no invite........ I am narcissistic enough to want to maintain some semblance of ego integrity

Why I windsurf? For a few reasons but pleeeaaase pray for your fellow windsurfer to have some wind in perth when he comes back because he's working on a mine site!!!! It's only for 2 more months as work experience for uni but geeze not for me after that!! Hope nobody else suffers the same fate!

Greeny,

What a difference a day makes, first run 60.1kmh and just kept going on from there.

20-29knots and a 6.2m sail woo hoo

good to have you and the crew come down.

Hahaha no Gestalt I'm sorry I wont be purchasing any sails with cams, booms with adjustable outhauls or boards that are wider than they are in length
I wasnt too keen at first so I hung back on the beach while the others rigged up and got out there.
I honestly didnt feel motivated. I just dont know how people can do it day after day? Wouldnt they want some variation? Its just not for me seriously but once again hats off to those who CAN go fast and have the drive to do it
As for me my drive are the waves and sometimes we cant have it all the time
But yes I do like the social side of sailing as we keep pushing each other to see who can carve up the best wave and out do each other with the number of turns on the one wave
Please Gestie I beg you dont tell anyone I was windsurfing in offshore on flat water... at all costs we must not post it on a thread in a public forum

Greeny was out on his formula gear yesterday.

87l starboard fish
5.3m tushy rock

hammering along on a 12knot base

it's bloody embarrassing being a fat basket
