Has anyone sailed in Wagga Wagga? Or is there another spot to sail within 2 hours drive? Help. I will be stuck there for a couple of months soon to be a sensible and responsible grandma but I am taking my gear cos otherwise I might rebel. Soooo far from the sea.

Susie, just rang mate there (Wagga) he reckons its OK for water, and you can sail on it.

would be sweet for some speed runs if you could get in the irrigation canals! that is if the wind was right direction!

hi susie,
the lake at griffith (1.5hr from wagga)is much bigger than lake albert. a mate and i kitesurf there if the wind is right.
elders.com.au has a good 6 day forcast. 3pm is usually the best time.
no sea breezes here though, 7hrs from coast. let me know if you want to come over.

I've got to say that that thought has crossed my mind when driving through irrigated countryside!

Oh, and you will quickly figure out, that if you knew that grandkids were going to be this much fun you would have had them first

Thanks George and Mineral
George I dont get it. Your profile says WA? Sounds like Lake Griffith is definitely worth checking out. Sounds like I need to take my big gear though???? Should I email u if I wanna sail there?

Mineral, thanks for the grandma pep talk. I just hope the grandkids dont get in the way of my windsurfing like their parents did!!! I guess I just give them back quick if the trees start rocking. Yeah, that could work.

Just posted some pics of the lakes around here if you guys interested. Apparently there is about 5 windsurfers in Wagga but I only met one. He had a 170 litre board and said its never windy enough to waterstart but I managed it yesterday on my 90 litre board just had to lie around between gusts. Wish I brought the bigger board though. Swimming laps at the pool instead Divaldo

No he is not born yet. Still swimming around inside. Apparently its a he. And the two runs were not very long. Blowering Dam would be the place for loooooong runs. And I am swimming laps Divaldo cos if I dont get exercise in water I go STIR CRAZY and besides you right it will help me put up some sort of competition against Kym. How did she break her mast???

No wind today. Went to a parade at kapuka. But no wind anyway. Guess its laps for me. I saw a guy swimming laps across lake albert yesterday but I dont think I will try that.
The boys (Dave, Smithy etc) have gone to kakawatu but I dont know if they took their sailing gear or not.
