Have a lot of black paint on my Goya Bolt deck, think of painting the black sections white, can I just use an acrylic spray paint?
Thanks

yes - if you mean acrylic lacquer (single pack car paint) not craft store stuff.

thanks Mark, can definitely go to an auto-parts store to get that paint, was also thinking of HomeDepot.

I paint all my boards with a high quality spray paint from Home Depot. Just make sure the paint is for wood and plastic and has primer built in. Works like a charm!

Some pics of the last project. Cherry Red!!

Has anyone weighed a board pre and post painting, just wondering how much weight is added. Do they really need paint?

It not a lot after all the volatiles evaporate. I recall putting about 800ml primer on a board then after sanding no weight gain (100g resolution on scales)
You need paint as the proper process of fill and sand and prime and sand fills little pinholes.
Paint protects the board from UV damage

I'm doing a new board of next couple of weeks so I'll weigh

Yes, but the reason I am painting the black to white is the black sections get hot in the FL sun, over the years figure that is not good.

Oil based ? Oh dear
Why don't you just use tar or bitumen. Apparently they're both fairly water tight and easy to use.

Lucky us when they replace the ability to actually talk to a person at big companies......
Deck must mean wooden outdoor area.....
