Never seen a wave in Busselton but I haven't been there in a cyclone, that may produce a few ripples.
A thread or so back we were discussing waves on the Dunsborough coast, (The Farm). I think there are several braeks along that coast, but they need a big swell, with a lot of west in it. Mainly a winter spots. I've sailed Yalingup, doesn't get as crowded as Margarets, but the wind direction is a little more onshore.
decrepit i think you are wrong ive surfed in busso a few times and there where some knee high curls coming through damn.... i failed to mention it was the wake from the back of my dads boat even if a cyclone did hit busselton im sure nothing more than.... hmmm.... ankle high sets may come stomping through
Prime time for this part of the coast is winter.Dunsborough works on a NW wind direction , 2.5 -3 metre swell .During winter the exposed sand bars during summer are covered in the tidal surge.Flat water for approx 300 - 400 metres and then into the waves. You head straight out from the beach.Excellent areas to rig up.You will be surprised how many sailors are there under the right conditions. This area is shelted from the cape and works under heavy conditions. We have had quite a few good sessions over the last few years.
