Took the day off, dropped junior at Kindy, car already loaded from weekend, decided to go to Goolwa for a slalom session instead of tackling Snapper point....thought to myself, need to be more competent on smaller board before hitting the sea.

Farken windy all the way down, get to Goolwa, westerly and only 5knts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Will I ever learn?

Call Susie at Snapper, yep sure enough, high tide, flatish water and 25 knts (although I did here it got a little hairy later .....eeek!

What kind of kook am I?

I know this is miles away but it was so windy at our school. I was in between 2 buildings and still loosing papers and what not.

Whats the water level like at goolwa Dave? I thought it would have got a bit better since we had all this rain. Also anyone been to boggy, whats the level like there?

Cheers

I don't really know if you missed anything Divaldo. There was six of us ducking for cover as the black fronts came through with squalls of 50 knots apparently knocking down trees at Port Willy. Hid under the stairs until they passed hiding from the rain and hail. Didnt listen to Bert and rigged 5m instead of 3.5 (havent got one) and 4 is too twitchy (old style) and 4.7 has a hole in it. So yeah I flew and also crashed and burned but it was hardly flat water once the tide came in, the guys got some jumps but I noticed I wasnt the only one in the water a bit, huge tides and huge shorebreak and really strong sideways rip to contend with as you came in and no beach (so no kiteboarders). And getting up the cliff was great fun too, But the Snapper Pt Deli hamburger was really yummy afterwards and the minty made it all worth while.

Was that you Susie on that brown Gasstra sail? That was the first time out at Snapper for me. Bert phoned me that morning and said that it would be the best spot to sail as it was so onshore.

I sailed my JP 83 litre and a 4.2 metre sail.

Yeah Dzub, I thought it was you. Why oh why didn't I listen to Bert and put my 4 on. My 5 was out of control. Yeah the sail is poo brown but it looks nice with the sun shining through it. Oh well. But now I am back in Wagga Wagga on my way to work in the snow for the winter so you can have the hail all to yourself. So see yas in the wind in October, should be time for the gullys almost by then. And hey, the stairs ended up almost collapsing cos of the crazy high tides and swell!!! They had it roped off so I went down and took some pics. Can't argue with the sea though. I saw them fixing it a few days ago.

Hi Divaldo,

Sailed boggy lake on tuesday arvo 29/05/2007 and was 20 - 35 knots - i don't know what goolwa was doing but boggy was awesome - big squalls and very frontal.

See you soon,

cheers,

Carl

How deep are Boggy and Goolwa now. Got any better with all the rain? The pic in the photos tab shows a very very sick Boggy Lake.

Sorry Mr Bagus, maybe we need a local SA Section so we can talk crap to each other.

Would you like me to explain a few things about local conditions, where we sail etc so you can feel more involved in the conversation?

Long weekend, let it blow! Staying at Clayton this weekend so Boggy session is on the cards!

Ha ha ha ha

We need a local SA section for sure.

Lets hope we get some wind on the weekend, it looks like there is a big fat slow high pressure system pushing that low out the way.
