well it sure don't feel like it greenie,

25 Deg temps and NE winds....

all i ask for is just one 30 knot westerly,,,,,,, and on a weekend... can't keep falling sick the night before only to see the forecast not come true. i am fast running out of diseases to tell my boss i got.

if it is windy monday i may need to reverse over the dog and tell the boss i am at the vet.

maybe notwal has hatched another of his cunning plans to turn up at wello and have his beloved van scare the wind away. [}:)]

Mr. Huey,

I bring to your attention the recent sacrifice I made of a perfectly good mast extension and unijoint. I don't know if this counts as a virgin, being secondhand when I got it, but I can say sincerely that to the best of my knowledge it's cherry hadn't been popped when it was delivered unto you.

Since this has happened, you have been stubbornly refusing to deliver wind.

I hope that you can set this matter straight within a week.

(oh, and just a bit more east in it would be suuuuuuperb )

Hey Haggar sorry i missed your Question.
Yer you can get flatter water on the other side of the bank at wello but you will need a high tide and you prob only got 1 hour each side of the tide. Wont be much good this weekend until late.

Shearwater is quite close to the seaway (just to the north of it), so when the tide's going in or out it really cranks. The local name for this is the "conveyor belt" effect. Good when it's wind against tide, but you do a lot of walking back upwind when the wind is in the same direction as the tide. So much so that if you're super keen and go there when the tide is going the wrong way you won't find anyone there except maybe some beginners who don't know any better, or experts who are great at going upwind.

In a southerly you want the tide to be going down.
In a northerly you want the tide to be going up.

The train is much less tide-affected, and it's the other side of the seaway, so when the tide's wrong at shearwater it's good at the train.

Ok, so VP's a good flat speed strip, but how do you sail it at low tide without having to carry your gear half a mile to launch?
Is there a deeper spot to launch from? You can have that regular spot when it's low tide - what a joke.

Hi bludga if you launch from the NE end of the beach its only a 150m walk on solid sand, hell of allot better at wello on a low tide.

is vic point closer to coomera than wello? I'd like to have a try there too. I'd head up to suttons, but with the shower forecast I think its a long way to go with the high risk of it being crappy, but i really enjoyed it last time
