Greetings fellow sailors. I am in a dilema as my wife and I have just had our first baby. Whilst this is excellent, my beloved sails and gear are no longer welcome in the cabin. :-(
What are people doing when gear needs to travel outside the cab.
Are these quiver bags any good? Any other options?
Leaving the family at home is not a option.

buy a van or a station wagon.,. else roof racks or a trailor are the next best alternative.

I have a Pryde quiver bag that straps to the racks but does not crush the sails. Works pretty well but if you're concerned (like I am) that your gear may go missing you still need to put it inside the car while sailing which may annoy them. A friend of mine has one of those fibreglass luggage pods that connect to your roof racks which is lockable & fits wet sails, masts, hitch hikers (oops) everything, except the board. I have twins - I feel your pain...!

the old trailer option is often overlooked. Every time i see a well sorted one at Peli i think "now there's a good idea".....

I think the boot of an average family sedan would be ample room for a baby, leaving the inside free for important articles such as windsurfing gear. This has just been tried out for a few months by a woman in America who couldnt afford babysitters whilst going to the pub.Only down side is she's in jail for it now.

Sorry to be the wet blanket, but you may be under false impression that the boss is going to let you seek sanctuary by going sailing.

You may have a few years to figure out the logistics of getting your gear to the beach.

Big congrats on parenthood, i hope yours came with the instruction manual

Hey Blow me and Big Al, we could set up a creche by the water. My 3 yr old daughter and 7 month old twin boys would love to be looked after by your other halves, while I'll go sailing

Creche by the water sounds like a great idea.
Elmo could be it's first guest.

just put the baby on the roof and leave the sailing gear in the car. if your wife does not like that idea just put her on the roof rack as well.

i am sure they will stop complaining about half way to gnaraloo
