I want to sell my wife's board on seabreeze and get the description right. What year is this board ?
I thought it was a 2004 but found one on the internet and it has different graphics. I've also found Wave Cults from 2001, 2002, 2003 & 2006 on the internet and none of them had matching graphics. Was there a Wave Cult in 2005 ? Or is this not a Wave Cult ? Or were there different graphics in the same year ?
She bought this "near new" in 2006.
Any help much appreciated.
PS don't worry Laurie, I'm not trying to sell it by stealth, I'll pay for an ad once I know what I'm selling.
i have the fiftyfive in the same graphics.
paid $250 now just need some wind!
it's hard to find specific details. but i did find some spec stuff around the time i bought it. i'll keep looking and see what i can dig up.
the board you have is the
RRD cult fourtyfive circa 1999/2000
It is a 98 or 99. From 2000 they were designated 245 - 255 - 260 etc. The 248 - 258 etc were the millenium pro editions with the channels in the tail.
I think the fortyfives are 69L from memory.
They are a sweet board on a DTL wave, really old school shape with lots of rocker and they turn absolutely lovely. Trouble is that means slowish to plane by modern waveboard standards.
I had a sixty.
Very very strong boards too, overengineered in every respect.
i bought mine to use in the odd cyclone or east coast low
waiting waiting waiting.
nah, just until the first or second week of january.
Thanks for the help guys. It seems that it is older than what we were led to believe when we bought it. That's a shame, not worth as much then.
I have now found examples on the net from 1999, 2000, and 2001 with the same graphics. Is it possible that they had the same graphics over those years or are these guys clueless like me ?
A couple of the boards seem to have an extra sun-shaped thingy on the nose.
69L sounds about right Mark. The wife has always found it a bit small and prefers my old acid 77. At 85kg I've only been able to use it when fully lit on a 4.2m. A sweet board though.
