Anyone windsurf on the Sunshine Coast, I live at Sunrise Beach and am looking for a suitable wave board. I'm about 85kg and I'm only interested in sailing in waves. Been looking at a Starboard Nuevo but 93Lt or 101Lt. Got plenty of experience but haven't sailed in a while. Just become disillusioned with the surfing crowds so thought I'd get back into windsurfing. Any local shops do hire or demo day? Thanks Shaun

I'm 74kg and use the Nuevo 93. I find it great for light winds.

You'll find most of the wavesailors around Caloundra.

Noosa gets over-run with kites but there are a few wavesailors around in the right conditions.

I think the 101 will be too big for your size, maybe consider SB kode or older JP f/w as well.

Hi Shaun,

I'm not the worlds greatest wave sailor , but I spend a bit of time sailing the open waters on the SunnyCoast, often Nth end.
You need a quick planing board, bit more floaty, something that can get over white water well, and deal with killer sweep, as you will be getting a lot of it especially at Sunrise, far from the easiest place to sail!

I use a 93ltr these days, same weight as you, you need a quick to plane board around here.
