east coast board made on gold coast, the business changed hands a couple of times over the years with a different owner & shaper etc, no longer in business - lots of them still kicking around. I had one of the later epoxy/divynicell/glass ones which was poorly built and didn't last long, but i think the earlier polyester/glass were much more robust and withstood test of time, and a different builder. they were all custom boards and no two were ever alike no matter how hard they tried - i'm sure other folk like tony d will be able to tell you more

If it was a Wind FX, now that would be a classy old board

Haircut I dont expect they would last long if you were looping them. Ive had my epoxy vacuume bag ones for 8 years no probs.
Still in good nick but like any boards older than 6 years there worthless. As for glass boards yep still have one of them too.
The worse thing that happend to them were the heal dents.
There were some awsome graphic on them back then.
oh yer no valves or sucking water. If you dinged them you could just keep sailing. I wonder what they would cost compared to the epoxy boards now.

hiya vando - it was before my loopable days. the mast track and finbox became loose and the board went from 6 to 12 kg
i tried to dry it out over two years, and only threw it out last july

hawky, that wind action 15+ may be a really good board!
in fact i probably fitted the fin boxes and footstrap plugs.
they were good comp winning boards in the old days.
your board is probably circa 1989. and was shaped by good ol "bad" billy riddell.

My very first shortboard was a wind action 9ft.
the colour was some sort of army camouflage pretty ugly.

I have an old 9 foot polyester wind action slalom board which i keep for those very odd days when i feel like a flat water blast. Its old, weighs a ton, and is relatively hard to sail but its damn fast and i can still keep up with (and pass) alot of people on much newer lighter equipment. One day it'll get turned into a bench seat for an outdoor barbie area along with all my other retired boards (that haven't broken).

my epoxy windaction is still very very fast , not bad for an old board ( 10 years), keping up with some of the new boards !

only suited to flat water though !!!
