Agree with Moby: the Bic has a good reputation as a learning board. If your husband is remotely interested in taking up windsurfing, I wouldn't rush to sell it. It owes you nothing.
Flat enclosed water (vs. surf) is best for learning. Lake Illawarra, Culburra, Sanctuary Point, Corrigans, Coila, Merimbula may be some potential places for you to consider. Maybe even Lake Burrill, but I haven't sailed there for a while.
You'll need advice as to how to rig it (the sail, fin and straps). Setting up a sailboard is quite "technical". Puts a lot of beginners off. Anyone here would be happy to help get him started. We love it, and are keen to share the passion.
