I thought some Qld'ers might be able to tell me if it is worth bringing sailing kit on a family trip to Fraser this time of the year. What is typical winds and where are the best spots. What would be good gear to bring with limited carrying capacity to travel? Kingfisher resort.

Yer mostly northerlies this time of year.
Will you be on the mainland at all sailquik if so burrum heads would be worth checking out? oh yer you wont need your wetsuit .

When I was up there years ago at this time of the year it 10 knots for days on end. Maybe it was slightly earlier in the year.........

well i live in tin can and sail the straights all the time. great spots, off kingfisher should be good with these northerlies but out in that area (between kingfisher, river heads and big mick) tides can run fast, never ws'ed it but i do regularly sail it in bigger boats (3m swells in tin can bay yesterday :P) but i wouldn't go on the east side of fraser

but burrum heads is the way to go i thing
