Jeez Matt, that's tragic about your knob falling off.
The worst thing that happened to me was I broke a tooth on a batten in a catapult. The scary thing was the rapid deceleration of my head against my sail lying on the water nearly knocked me out.
Lots of other trivial stuff - ah... its all boring.

Well needed to update this one, forgot I posted it. Actually what I didn’t know then until I went to emergency that evening I had opened toe up like bending banana til it breaks. Compound fracture Water started, and as I did, it all crunched back together felt it do it and thought I had only dislocated and poped it back think I was just wishing that was all that happened and I didnt look at it at the time, to sh1t frightened as to what I had done
Week in hospital, two ops and off water from then til now.(Dec 30th) Toe still black on top, tender as all #*#* and unfortunately its not going to ever heal correctly. The surgery to put it right is far worse than the inconvenience of a bung toe.

Sniff, sniff... Elmoed my f%$#in toe! Rigged my kit, carried it to the beach, spent a couple of mintues tuning it on the beach for the INSANE wind. Took two steps into the water and kicked a f%$#in rock... Thought to myself, sh!t that hurt, took a look at it, coupla drops of blood, no worries I thought to myself harden the f%$# up. Headed back into the water and the shore break lifted my toe big nail back to where it grows from[}:)] Sailing cancelled Maybe tomorrow I put a band-aid on it
