Just a quick note to let you know that Windsurfing Queensland has reached a minor milestone by signing its 100th member.

David Wenck signed at the lake on Sunday and was the 100th member, which far exceeds numbers over the last few seasons.

We are seeing great turnouts and some highly competitive racing at the slalom events and drew quite a crowd at the Waterloo Cup due to the proximity to the shore. I would estimate there were 50 spectators lining the rock wall at some points in the day. This sort of interest can only be good for the sport.

As part of the committee it is very satisfying to see these sorts of results and it makes being involved very rewarding.

I would like to thank Simon and Julie Fyfe for their continued support to the club and for signing a large majority of the members over the last two years. They have gone above and beyond to get us to this point.

Thanks also to all of the members and volunteers who have helped to make this possible.
