How about a definitive list of the things you can do on a windsurfer vs the things you can do on a kite surfer.

Windsurfer:
Big Jumps
Double Forward loop
Spock
bottom turn

Kiter:
Big Jumps
Kill yourself rigging up in the carpark.
Rip fingers off with kite lines.
pi** off every other wave user.

You get the idea.

You forgot "High 5's", both on and off the water (does that count as one move or two?)

Good point nutbag,
High 5's would definately count as two moves.
High 5 - Off water
High 5 - On water

Apparantly these are 'advanced' moves and not for the faint hearted.
We could put them opposite the windsurfer's 'double forward loop' as being level in fear factor and required ability.

I did see two kiters doing "Pattercake Pattercake" but this also comes under High 5.

What's with the obsession with kiting Gary? Give it a go, you mind actually like it (kiting that is).

Here's a link with videos to pretty much every move that exists in windsurfing today. The number, variety, difficulty and overall spectacle is so far greater than kiting it's not even funny :)

You forgot one of my favourites:

Breaking limbs by landing on caravan 200m in shore.

Level of difficulty = number of limbs broken.

(Some guy actually did this on the north coast!)

I have noticed another thing you can do on a kite. You can wear your board shorts over your wetsuit.Does that mean in warmer waters you need to wear two pairs of boardies before you can go out/

You are right Rustle, this trick can only be performed on a kite surfer.

This is sometimes why kitesurfers are referred to as "Pants" or "Double Pants".

A kiter fag up my way yells out "batter-up!" just before he does a gay floating "BOOST".

I think the "batter-up" is a type of "Boost".

It involves "Boosting" and then slapping ur ar*e with a kipper. Very complicated.

why dont you all just get over it, where I sail there are kites, more kites now then windsurfers, and windsurfers, I windsurf, Ive never considered most of the issues I keep reading in this forum, when Im sailing I give way to them, windsurfers and kites, and I expect others to give way to me, if i see an amatuer, I just turn around, or sail down wind and just get away from them, Ive never picked up on any ill feelings and just go sailing when I can, and have a good time, I quite admire kite surfing but dont have any great need to get in to it because I windsurf and cant be bothered getting a new set of gear.
Most of the stupidity in the world seems to be perpetuated by bored males being competetive.(Im a bloke)People on this forum are not bored, because your into something, wind and wave generated, so live and let live. If your bored enough to go on about the difference between windsurfing and kite surfing, give your attention to some real issues that need supporting.

For someone who says live and let live you have a lot of telling people what to do in your thread.Bored -who has taken the time to post the longest thread about something which is just a bit of rivalry humour.I believe its just in our instincts to form tribes of opinion.

aranici,
I did try to read your 'article' but got so bored I started work on the ultimate anti-kite device.
It's called a MIRROR.
By strategically placing mirrors in windusrfing car parks the kite surfer would find it irresistable to stop admiring himself in his boardies thus keeping him off the water for hours.
Brilliant I know! (Crypic face)

what has happened to the windsurfing forum? all the whinging used to only take place in the kiteboard forum, now it's all in the windsurfing forum.

like aranici said, everyone should be whinging about something worthwhile, like the currumbin wind

oh, and Robby Naish said to say that people hanging out at currumbin err, the beach, and talkin it up, aren't allowed to claim to be wavesailors till they AT LEAST learn how to do a TACK to compliment that very impressive standard set of tricks known as the - planing in straps trick, stepgybe trick, and jump straight up and down off a wave trick

greenleader has already started the super cynics club, so i'm starting up the uber sarcasm club

Yawn.
I suppose ur right.
But have a look at the interest factor for these threads (i.e number of people reading them) they are way ahead of 'my plug wont work' and 'windchill factor in Currumbin'.

Whats even more strange is that Swedebabe, who can't even windsurf is getting most hits.
