Very depressing in this neck of the woods. (I could always reverse the arrow colour to green.)

For sure mate, me too. Plus, sailing is so wanky here.

Still, one gotta make do. I like kayak rides with me mongrels in the winter, and outdoors hockey. Reminds me of touch footy in the winter at Artamon.

Funny when back at Wanda and Kurnell every other year, I sail in shorts in the winter and people look at me funny... must stick out like the proverbial dogs' balls.

i reckon there's still options.

option 1.

restore/recondition then sail.....

option 2.

take advantage of the wide flat beaches.

options 3.

model gliders.

Not good at all Sausage, time to hibernate.

Its these times of the year that I always think about getting a longboard like a Kona or some formula gear.

The fisherman at work will be licking their lips and constantly reminding me for the next 5 months at how good the weather was on the weekend!!!

it's windy all year in South East QLD, except may, when there is no wind at all.

i notice wednesday and thursday in CQ have some solid formula weather. ocean formula sailing in 10-15 knots is nearly true windsurfing.

so,,,,, anyone seen Mr Sausage around these parts.....

Sod's law I'm out west next Thursday too.

Am trying for a late June leave pass for Green Island. I can bet both my right and left ones that there'll be no wind in Yeppoon that time of year so Cairns may have to do.

we're kind of lucky here in brissy,

although we don't get the consistency of FNQ in winter or WA in summer,

we are right in the middle (latitude) of the seasonal changes between the northern wet season in summer and the southern wet season in winter.

sure sometimes we might go a couple of weeks between decent blows and it doesn't get as strong as other places, but we all sail all year round here and just adjust our location depending on wind direction.

we don't really have a season where we say there is no wind except potentially mid to end autumn, just a month really, (may) every other time is up for grabs.

eg,

august to nov - Northerlies
nov to jan - Nor Easterlies
dec to march/april - Sou Easterlies
jun-august - Westerlies

yearly wind rose.

I'll be fixing up the old girl here over the winter. Needs a full refit, a new sail, and a new trailer. Then I'll be right for light wind days.

i had a look through th bom and have come up with what i reckon is the winner.!

windless days are here so finally i had my 'granular cyst' or the locals call it 'cats eye or fish eyes' incised..got it from an orchin sting..well doc dug up a hardened one the size of an eraser head on my foot and stiched to close..funny for the sake of soaking wet and wind i just tried to forget the pain just to sail for 2yrs.yeah i could have done it earlier but nothing beats 2wks of of zipping back and forthhoping it gets well in 2wks time cuz the southwesterly monsoons are sort of here...love the boat ikw777 has nice cruisin' and firiebob there must be a lot of local weather making wind or any part of oz!
