I was thinking the other day about a problem i have,i manage a complex with seven levels, when the wind gets to about 25knts the top railings vibrate like a tuning fork driving all our retired tenants mad! Of course if its 25 knts i am never there(i am in Mortone bay somewere) to personally witness it myself so i dont believe these people...they must be telling fibs,i just think its funny the way all these vans and utes turn up out of nowhere when the wind comes its like a magic bell ringing some place....how do you get out of work.....or away from the misses???

I have a 20knt clause in my contract which I don't invoke every 20knt plus day but it's nice to have it available.
For medicinal purposes only of course.

Work is easy to get off.
Try getting out of family commitments or reasoning with the wife especialy as 'Boytown' puts it at 'The special time of the month'.

Just vote Howard the Shmuck out so you dont get forced to sign AWA's
EBA all the way
No principles, no guts, just a frigin scab
I have the ability to leave work by 3pm and if I dont wont to work overtime I dont have too. And I get paid properly for the extra hours, including public holidays and RDO's. None of this flat rate, your a slave mate! My family and windsurfing is more important than the rich prick getting richer. Rats in the ranks is all we are in the eyes of Howard. Do yourself and your kids a favour and look at the way America has turned out. Trailer park trash. Do you want to end up like this?

This is a great site but drivle like this should be banded.Politics has nothing to do with windsurfing. Opinions are like a##holes every one got one and some people speak through them.

Dribble like what? My post had everything to do with windsurfing. This thread is about work and windsurfing am i wrong? And in my current work situation Im able to windsurf every afternoon because of the contract I have with my boss. He is happy and I am happy
Do you want to work when your 70? or would you want to retire at 55?
If we are to continue to vote for a government led by Howard the Shmuck, windsurfing in the arvo will only get harder.
I think your asshole is open as well Smiles

agree smiles. this is drivle.

greenroom

please explain.

who devised the idea of the EBA and how has this affected your windsurfing?

what was australia like when this person was in power? and how did that effect your windsurfing?

what is the difference between eba, work choices and AWA and how does this affect your windsurfing?

have you been forced to sign an AWA which has deprived you of windsurfing time?

why do you think america is trailer park trash and what effect has this had on your windsurfing time?

what is political tourettes and will this effect your windsurfing?

Blah blah blah
Another soft topic of yours Gestie?
You really seem easy to get all defensive and pushy. I bet your one of those people who puts his foot in a closing door?
Your not the only one on this planet. Do you think you are? Do you think you are better than me?
From what I can gather it looks like you and public forums dont mix?
You obviously dont respect anyones opinion but your own?
Self self self
Maybe you should take a chill pill and stop getting so arguementative and concentrate on loaning some gear out from your windwoosies library.
Or organise a meet for saturday with your flatwater wallie club at VP on your own website hey?
As for me Im voting for Pauline Hanson
Get over it

smiles what does "banded" mean? do you want a band placed around the thread, please explain

work and windsurfing can mix, I think a lot whilst windsurfing, and more so surfing, these thoughts are sometimes work related, sometimes, mmm, maybe not.

Actually I used to own an air conditioning business on the goldy, always had my kit in the car, when it got windy, the hour or so was classified as a sales appointment! Got out of the water, showered and went on to the next sales appointment, Im sure there is a few who do this!

I like your story sonic

I was in an AWA two years ago and could not get out to sail because of that instrument. Now I don't work there and sail any day I want and have the most flexible boss you could imagine. You are the master of your own destiny Greenroom. You can negotiate your own hours now instead of following a pack who don't understand the windsurfers needs over 20kts. You don't have to be where you are. Just leave and get a job that better suits. There is no shortage of jobs so there should be no fear.

Also Gestalt does a great job at getting people together for a light social occasion. I can't believe you are knocking his efforts. I wish there were more people like him.

You work with 100 other windsurfers Greenroom? I don't see how you're EBA works to you're claims if not. AWA maybe, EBA you got a good draw. EBA's suck also, all of the places I have worked have turned over a good 80% of the staff within 1 year of EBA implementation.

Don't offend Gestalt, our country needs more young liberals like him

Maybe you can take some of you're own advice Greenroom.

i work in a windsurf shop, nothing worst than people walking in every 10 minutes saying how good it is out on the water, and we check the wind on here every 10 minutes to let people know whats going on. i have threatened to quit a few times this season if i couldn't leave to go sailing, that seams to work..... sometimes.

Windsurfing is like a drug for me. If the wind is up and I am at work I get really pissed off. Sick days or flexi days work for me but it is not always possible.

I have employed people and a good employee can negotiate far better terms, they are hard to come by and any employer with the slightest business sense would let his staff go windsurfing if its possible knowing that that good worker would make it up two fold. Regarding the new IR laws,i was pis...ed off by being held to ransom by pregnant women, young surfy doods and just plain old lazy gits taking my money and not performing...something had to be done to protect the small business. When its your "life and money" at stake it should be your decision who you keep on your books.
To the chap who works in the windsurfing shop,i hope you buy it and get some staff!
By the way i put two heavy duty electrical ties on the vibrating railings seems to of done the trick!!
