Fook n 'ell. I have had a Chinook ally boom for 4 yrs (1) in a DTL wave spot that I get trashed at often (2) i am 90kg and like to sail overpowered.
You could not tell the boom from a new one apart from the obvious wear on the grip. Still the same bit of inhaul rope IIRC.
If it is sort of known / accepted that cracks develop in a boom
WTF are ppl thinking buying them? Even if those cracks don't cause the boom to break it is still unacceptable from my point of view.

for offering that opinion here, all these little posts keep cropping up about all the things that bust on their gear. Interesting....how much is RRP for an X3 and and X6 boom?
