I am thinking of getting an aerotech charge 5.8 06 model and would greatly appreciate any comments or info on this sail. Its luff is about 460 and rec mast is a 460/25 as i am still using old school gear, the mast lenght doesn't bother me, but was wondering if a 430 would be ok, the sail is supposed to have an adjustable top.
I had an aerotech savage wave back in the mid to late 90's and was very happy with it.
thanks in advance

Hey Lungs, I think that the Charge was the wave sail. I've had Rapidfires and the wind range is awesome, and I have used the 6 m with a vario top on a 430 which works fine. If you get it for a good price I reckon give it a go.

Yes, the charge is a wave sail. I have an '08 5metre. It's ok as long as you rig it pretty full (i.e. not too much outhaul). Not sure what the '06s were like.

Derek, are you saying that you want to use a 430 mast in a sail with 460 luff length? I think that would be OK as long as you have 30cm of extension, though my impression has been that makes the sail a bit too flat through the middle and sag off in gusts (others may disagree). It's debatable whether you'll really care on a windy day at Queens though.
