haha good one Kana! plenty of eye candy today !
for me well, its kinda like "another mast bites the dust"!
got crunched by about a 10ft wall of whitewater, bugger!
got 1 sweet jump and one sweet wave ride prior to that though.
Still have to say, it was worth it, just a bummer we didnt have a few more knots of wind to make the trip back out a bit quicker, and thus a smaller chance of getting cleaned up on the way, oh well, live and learn.

3 masts for the year, things come in 3's, so that should be it, I might see if I can buy a 6 pack of masts??

true moz, but you cant jump 4 metres in the air at the train either!
Or pull some bottom turns in front of a 10ft wall of water, horses for courses!
I think the ratio of excitement in the ocean is about 100 runs on flat water nearly equals the first run in the ocean, it is truly an intense sensory overload the first few times! It has to be experienced to be believed!
But, the cost is, you are going to break kit, not if but when!
I think racing motocross and downhill mountain bikes for so long numbed my senses, and I personally need the hit I get out of wave jumping, swell riding, catching waves.
I do still dig flat water blasting, but geez, how many times can you do the same thing over and over, and over, and over! lol
Thats where the ocean rules, every run is new, nothing is the same, ever!
Im not critisising flat water sailing, its awesome, the speed is a trip, but it just doesnt quite float my boat.
So, more broken masts coming my way no doubt!
So moral to my story, whatever feels good!
Talk to any wave sailor though, they will soon tell you why they wave sail!

moz, you just have to wait for the surf to be small, 1-2ft its fine, no big issues at all. I remember you telling me you have surf experience as well, so you will do fine, just need the right conditions for your first venture outside, 1-2ft, 17-20kn
