hi the cable on my austral 20 centreboard has snapped . Can't remember how the cable is rigged. Can I fix it without dragging it out of the water?

im gussing the cable attatcjes to the training egde of the centerboard .. so i think ull have to go for a swim with ya crimping tolls to crimp the new cable on ... then feed it up thru the centerboard case hole and bobs ya uncle .. ? or is thier more to it ?
