i'm an intermediate sailor (straps, gybes and small jumps) looking for smoother water to iron out turns and occaisonal jump. What's the chop and waves like at leightons or other beaches up and down the coast? Haven't been out much this season, and am looking for a change that i can get into without to much hassle. I will tend to swim around a bit on the turns when i get tired, so i won't be sticking myself in the wave zones...mettams pool for one. I know what the river is like, and would like a change.

leighton should be good for you eastie,
You could always try Dutchin at Cots as that always flat in summer just remember to look out when turning as it can get quite crowded there.
Pinnaroo point at whitfords is also flat very popular with kites though
best find a place local to you and sail it heaps, you will be making your turns in no time
Good luck
