I have that exact wetty...E-bomb 3/2 and it's keeping me toasty through Vic winter! Much better than last few years with an el-cheapo 4/3 that I had to wear a titanium rashie with.

Up until 3 weeks ago I was wearing a 2/2 ebomb but just found it cold in legs when standing in the water too long ( I'm fairly new to the sport and have been trying waterstarts for too long) Just bought an ONeill Epic 4/3 for sale price of $125 and the water now feels like a warm bath and no, I don't piss in it.

As a veteran windsurfer, I wouldn't buy anything but a Promotion suit now. www.wetsuit.com

Hi rubby,

What thickness body/sleeves do you use ?
Any local distributors?

I bought last seasons O'Neill Mutant 4/3 (chest zip) for about $320. Best buy I've done. I only get a cold water flush if I do a really nasty stack and it's quite windproof. No idea how it compares to the other top market wetsuits because was old one was a cheapy rip curl that leaked through the seams and back zip.

Almost in the coldest part of the Victorian year and I only every get a little cold if I stand in the wind doing nothing for an hour while still wet.

Must haves for future wetsuits for me are: glues seams, no back zip and great flexibility. Oh and key pocket is certainly handy.

I find my West Nitro 4/3 pretty good. Although I also wear a rashie underneath and a NP bouyancy vest when it's really cold for that extra bit of warmth. Generally I dont feel cold in my body now but my exposed feet (dont like wearing boots or gloves much) go first.

The "wesuits.com" range seems quite interesting, and also cheap, even in US$.
I wouldn't buy a wet suit without trying it on though, so a local distributor is a must (for me that is).

hey sailhack, I have a crappy wetsuit and was considering a titanium (xxx) vest to go underneath on cold days (more for spearfishing) . How do you rate it as an alternative?

The titanium made a huge difference to my core heat. I've now got an e-bomb rashie, which is about the same as the titaniums but will last longer, the coating on the titaniums start to wear off after a dozen or so wears. Best thing about them is that you're wearing a wetty for less amount of time, as you can start wearing just the rashie instead of a wetty earlier at the start of summer, and through to after easter (ish).

I've got an older model Fbomb 4/3. I've been really impressed with it and wouldn't hesitate going with Ripcurl again. The only thing I would say is that occasionally you can get a cold flush down the back so I would go for one without the back zip next time. Also the hood makes a massive difference and for a chrome dome like me it is a must.

A wetsuit with a zipper so you can take a leak without having to take off your wetsuit.

oneil guru 2/3mm full wetsuit. Just got it. Best thing in the world i can be in the water for 3 hrs windsurfing and still not even get wet inside. the neck seal is comfy but seals to perfection. And it feels like your not even wearing a wetsuit. i thought it was 1/2mm when i first got it.

I presume people also complement a wet suit with some kind of a hood?
What would you recommend for the head protection?
