just about to update my board after a few years off
been sailing a 125lt board around 288 cm long and 50 od cm wide thinking of going to a new wider shape like a futura but am in 2 minds about the size 111 or 122 are the newer wider boards going to perform ok in droping about 15lts in volume down to the 111 with the extra width or should i stick at the bigger volume I weigh about 90kg usually rig between 6.5 to 7.5

It all comes down to wind strength & whether you can plane or not on the 111 vs the bigger board. Ideally you'd have 2 boards. One for lighter winds. If you think you can plane the majority of the time with yr 111 then go for that, if in doubt go the bigger board.

Also considering that you'll be sailing on fresh water most of the time ... (and I'm sure happy to be corrected) that fresh water makes the board not as buoyant. Also being inland where the wind is potential a bit more gusty, maybe the 122 would be a better option to help you through any lulls. Also if you do decide to get a second smaller board the 122 will be a great light wind option.

Fresh water is a good point I would rather be a bit out of control in a gust than dropping of the plan in the lulls 122 is going to be the go and a cheaper 95 lt for the big days

Sounds like a good plan..!! Have you caught up with Jason yet (Ballarat windsurfer as well). He often comes down this way for a sail and ring-ins are always welcome!
