why do kitesurfers wear there boardies over the wetsuits? i know guys that used to windsurf for years, now they kite and started doing the boardie thing, i often ask if kiters have smaller packages? if we start kiting will my knob shrink? is this another reason not to change teams? thoughts anyone...

it's pretty strange.

did you see that thing guy cribb did a recently where he sailed 100KMs or something. it's in the UK so it's cold which is why he is wearing a steamer, but he's wearing white boardies and a rashie over his wet suit. ok the rashie mayber for some sponsor thing although it was just an animal rashie.

it seemed pretty stupid to me. was he trying to make it look tropical?

the last thing i would want to do if i was sailing 100kms is wear anything extra.

Only thing I can think of apart from making himself more visible, was maybe he was worried about getting too hot - and wanted the extra cooling of the water evaporating off the outside of his wettie. I wondered about trying to protect his gear from UV.. but seeing as it's all sponsored I can't imagine that he'd be too worried.

well since we are sharing..

My package is huge. like really really really huge. sometimes i think i should wear boardies to stop everyone getting embarrased.

also i think sometimes i am the cause of all the boardies over wetties stuff. you know cause of my hugeness

for those who are worried about their "package" and cold weather shrinkage problems, you can now get package enhancing undies. Or you could wear your boardies under, your wetsuit?????

When I sailed dinghies we used to wear boardies over our wetsuits. But rather than being "cool", it was to prevent the stainless steel bits and pieces on the deck from ripping holes in the bum of your wetsuit.

So maybe kitesurfers wear boardies on the outside to protect their wetsuit when getting dragged around on their arse? I've seen kitesurfers get dragged up the beach and over the sanddunes on their arse before, so it stands to reason.

Up here in the tropics, we have to wear stinger suits (lycra) during summer, not a good sight on a Old B*stard So I wear bordies over the top, I'm also out numbered by Tea Baggers, so I fit in

LOL. LOVE this topic. Again. Well I will admit for the millionth time that yes, us kiters whom choose to wear boardies over their wetsuits, are yes... Somewhat Gay.

But we will continue to do it.

However, when I surf in a wetty I don't wear boardies. I just prefer the look with boardies than without. A break from the expanse of wetsuit to look at lol

I wear boardies over my wettie and it's not about modesty for me. I know other chics who do the same. I think it's more about a fashion look.

I heard that curac's hugeness is so bent he doesn't need a harness to hook in.About the boardies on the outside, it's to let other like minded people know which team they bat for (not ours).

This is a rather fetching picture of some of my mates


And these particular mates are all rather small, so you can see my dilemma when it comes to boardies over wetsuits.
Unlike Mark_Aus who only manages to pack to halfway down to his knee, I am stuck with having to wear a steamer to prevent any unwanted escapes from the bottom of my shorts.
