we were out just me and a mate criscrossing about a km. off shore when i wondered where he was cuz the sun was just glaring mad..finally saw him and went to him and he was screaming to call a outrigger pumpboat for help and i shouted why since i didn't see any damage and worst i couldn't understand when you're upwind...to my utter surprise

his thumb got stuck inside the space of the harness bar hook and was lodged so tight that every rise of the swell he would shout like his life was in jeopardy..i waved as much as i could but the guys on the pumpboat would just wave back not knowing it was something out of the ordinary..i tried to look for help but at 1:30pm most people are having their 'siestas' so i decided to help him unbuckle his harness seat and just leave the bar on his thumb and told him to drift towards shore..after oil, soap, pliers and whatnot we decided to cut the bar right in the middle...man we just laughed it off, he couldn't figure out how he jammed his thumb.. with a few free beers from him i just couldn't help but think this must be the oddest disaster in windsurfing
