Why was there such a difference yesterday ? I hear that guys were getting over powered on 4.5s at pinneroo, yet 4.7/5.0 seemed fine at scarbs. And the graphs show a big difference.

Not sure why this is, but Pinnaroo is almost always windier than cott, swanbourne and scabs so this is not a one off. I sailed Dutch Inn a week ago or so and was struggling with a 5m, on my way home I saw guys flying along at Pinnaroo. I guess this something to do with how a seabreeze works cos Lancelin will be light yet 40kms up the road Greenhead is howling.

Was on a 4.7 North at Pinnaroo yesterday. Bloody hard going.
Few left as it got up above the 20 knot on graph reading. most on 5.2- 5.6
Others out on 4.7's with me gave it away, TFH.
My North gave just that little more forgiveness and control, but it was still bit hairy and being a novice I probably wasn’t doing the sail any justice. Bloody easy water starting with squashed air like it was
No prangs like Elmo’s

Decrp,

We speed sailed Estuary yesterday, I recorded strongest gusts around 26.9 knots on the shoreline, coulda been at least a few more knots in the middle, Elmo sailed with a 6.2, and elmo'd his face, I sailed with a 5.8 and broke my speed record, but it was dead-flat compared to ocean.

hey nath,

i sailed at the poo from 5 onwards on my 5.3... bit hairy but no wookers...

i think the beaches here act as wind funnel coz once you get out to the outer reefs it drops of a tad.

hope u scored a sesh tonight, i missed out again due to work and family commitments and now there is going to be no F&$%*in wind for the xmas period, and i dropped a file on my board and it went through, then i dropped the board on a shelve trying to fix it and put a bigger hole in it...etc etc etc

might go to the river/leighton in the morning for an eastery blast if yer keen

I talked to mark earlier, he went out yesterday after I came in, said he only had a 4.0 up, and only lasted a few runs out the back, came in and played inside the reef. It was certainly blowing.
