I've noticed that some of the images are quite out of date, have they been updated? I can see my house, but my neighbours deosnt exist & that was 3 years ago.

The images show the future. Accept it, Google Prophet has shown that soon your house will not exist!

With the latest version (not sure about older versions) if you save your GPS tracks as gpx files then they can be opened and viewed in Google Earth.

Rip.

Mark, are you still worried we'll find your secret spot????
I had a look a while ago, and I think it was a low swell day, even observations didn't look very impressive.

Yes that's the trouble with using GE there's no way of knowing how big the swell is for any image, some images are months apart so you can't use a known spot as reference.

Never thought about it like that........ prolly cos I haven't used it much as I'm still on slowband and it is not worth the effort.
Then again, slowband is better than nothin, I should be glad to have *any* technology after last week.

Hey decrep you build boards, any ideas about my "how to make foam brown" post? ........... apart from the obvious

that's awesome rip in gale, with hte older version you couldn't upload gpx info unless you had the google earth pro version.

hi Zed, the images aren't updated, i have found the images are clearer now and i can zoom in further.

google earth is awesome for sussing out new spots to sail. most of the photos around my house and other local sailing spots are taken at low tide so it gives an excellent view of reefs, sand banks etc. also shows up rocks near launch spots.
