some help to find good booties/feet protection would be helpfull? Going to tackle pt walter again, consequently the need for feet protection. Not looking for the wetsuit type, more the rubber ones that look like ankle socks. Where would be the best place to try and get some?
thanks for your help

cheers

Dive boots can be a little sloppy when wet, feet tend to move inside the boot, even when in the straps.. Surfing boots, with molded toes are the best bet...

i've got some FCS ones from when i lived back in the icey cold waters of melbourne....they are great at keeping your feet warm and protected from cuts, but i could never get that "connected" feeling with the board...

i reckon the last 6 times i've been out i've cut my feet up on reef everytime...if you find a pair that are super lightweight, fit tightly yet offersome protection to the soul of the foot ,,,let me know

i've been using these O'neil ones. I sail bout 3 days a week and they last just over a year before developing holes in the sides where they rub against the straps.

They have a slightly thicker sole than the other brands of the same style, a seperate big toe, comfy, but still give lots of feel. If you've never worn them before they feel strange for the first session but you quickly get used to them. The problem is once you start wearing them you can't go without as they make your feet stick into the straps and grip the deck really well. Great for tricks and stop feet coming out when looping etc.

About $55 from most surf shops

The O'neill 1.5mm Tropical SuperFreak split toe is the go. Haircut, if you've only been using the 2mm, try the 1.5.
