Jordo,
I weigh the same as you but i'm a bit stumpier.
I'm in the same boat, looking for a wave board for those 5.0m and sub days.
I've narrowed my search down to a 70L or 75L Evo.
Ask your mates if you can try their boards b4 you buy.
I reckon 75l would be good for you.
Perhaps 69 is a bit small? (and dont forget it could be +-2 litres either way).
Aparantly (according to my serious about waves video) the width of the board is an equally important aspect as volume for getting onto the plane early.

I'm about 85 kg, I bought a 72l board which I reckon I could barely just get away with on a 4.8 and a really windy day - but haven't managed to use it in any good test conditions yet....
I'm thinking if I went up to about 78-82l it would be primo for me.. so I reckon that a 69l would be fine for someone 70-75, could maybe even go smaller...
ps if either of you are interested in a really good 72l wave board ~$200 (with fin) cool board but a little small for me - let me know & i'll send some pics..

If you are definately sailing in constant 25 knts plus then you can get away with 65 litre 52cm wide board (narrow thin tail board will give you better control in higher winds) a small fin will also give you more control, but realistically if the wind drops out or is gusty then you would need to go for a bit more volume and width to get you through the lulls.

i supoze i should tell you the board i got, so you see what i am progessing from,
i have a nice 160lter formula style board for light days with a 6.5, i have a 110lter starboard carve for 17 knotts and up on a 5.4 or a 6, and i have a 100ltr, JP freestyle, and i have a starboard fish 86 lters. so they are the boards, so i have 2 boards that i can use in the waves, (freestyle and fish) and 1 for bump and jump/ flat water, and one light wind, but i have noticed with my fish, it gets a bit uncontrolable in the 30knotts, and the only thing stopping it from sliding out is its tri fin aranment,

yowzers..30knts on a 86 fish = mega bounce attack,

Juice is on the money, go a 2nd hand pin tail for those rare 30knt days or trips up north...

loose the formula board

use the carve for 6.5

use the fish for 5.4 n 6

your 70ltr board for 5 n smaller

Windy, have you tried Formula or are you just knocking it...?

Some of my best sailing is done on my formula -> when its 8knots, the sun is shining and the water is warm, you can cruise around for hours...

But Jord should get a 8m or bigger and 60cm+ fin - anything less isn't matched to the board size.

at 75kg I use a 75L wave board for everything.
if its allways 25Kn+ then you dont want to have a board thats too corky so 69L sounds ok or smaller if you dont mind dogging it a bit in between the sets on the inside.

mathew, i havnt got a 8mter but i have a 8.5 sail for it but i got a 45, 55 and i thnk a 75 or it could be a 85 cm fins for it. i havent had any troubles with it yet, but i have used a 24 cm wave fin on it before and that was fun, may i recoment to every one to never do it

A ~70 liter pintail board should be sweet Jord, I had a 75 but im 85ish kg, and it suited me perfectly for the high wind days... The rest of the time was mostly using the fish. Good luck!

yeh i agree with x-man, im pretty much exactly ur height and weight, and i use a 74L evo for al my waves stuff, so yeh around 70L should be perfect if you want it just for those high wind days.

or you could be radical and use your 8.5 and ur biggest board when its 25 knots, whichever you prefer hahaha
