Interesting question. I thought that very same thing last week when up in Lancelin. Standing on the beach I decided to do a survey of who windsurfed or was involved with windsurfing. Out of 20 people surveyed, 18 were involved with windsurfing, thus the results go to show that approximately 90% of Australians are involved in Windsurfing.

Must admit always wanted to windsurf. In my home village in darkest wales the British championships would come on down once a year and take over. Was great watching these guys go nuts.

My old man always said to me dont know why you surf boy, windsurfing looks much more fun.

So i tried it, enjoyed it, couldnt afford it, stuck to surfing.

Some 20 years later i saw kiting, liked the look took it up, could afford all the gear so now not really much point in windsurfing.

The thing i fkn hate tho is this winsurfing kitesurfing divide or the kitesurfing is cooler or kiters giving windsurfers hassle on the water or vise versa....its soo fkn crap.
