just discovered one of my old sails has been nimble on by rodents been stored away in the garage apparently because l washed it downwith fresh water the mice like it the whole luff is eaten through in some parts they say to leave the salt on.wow.

Lost a sail many years ago on holidays when a rat got into the sail bag and ate away at the luff pocket. Got a pleasant surprise when I unrolled it to find holes all the way up the sail. Salt did not stop that vermin.

I would suspect salt to attract hem more than anything
