Ok as the budget is tight after renovating and buying land i have to keep cost in mind, i have been looking around and was thinking about maybe a bic techno or a f2 xantos or trying to pick up a second hand GO. The problem i am having is deciding on what size board to pick, i am currently on a 68cm wide board that floats well with my weight of 80kg (its about 25 years old), I have been thinking around 120L with a width of 65-70cm as i am pretty comfortable on the 68cm i have at the moment.

I had a Techno 283 and it was a great board. I've also tried the bigger GO (friendship model) and it felt big and slow compaired to the Techno.
The Xantos has a longer narrower shape than the other two. They look ok.
I'd say go for the Techno.
If your up to getting in the straps then maybe look at something abit smaller/lighter/faster (around 120Ltrs) which you can uphaul and sail up to 7.5 mtr sails. Or for very light wind 150 Ltr's.

yeah im pretty well getting into the straps and up on the plane as much as my rig and board currently will allow. i was thinking something smaller as im thinking it will do me for a good few years, im uphauling at present and just starting to do a few beach starts in ?15-20knot winds.

The JP (about 130 lts) on the first page of buy and sell could be perfect for you. Good price, great board and they have more footstrap options than the Bic techno
