i have seen in a number of topics people saying stuff like this:
"never sailed them and bought them with 5sails, 2masts and 4booms for $100.00 at a clearing sale years before knowing anything about windsurfing.....(paid $120.00 too much now that I have to pay to dump them at the tip.)"
if anyone has any old stuff that they would like to get rid of i love to have it so i can try and get some more of my sailing mates to come windsurfing with me, and just so i have more options of stuff that i can rig.
anything would be greatly appreciated, im nick and am in willi (melbourne vic) but can probably convince parents to drive me some where to pick stuff up. 0434227380 is contact no.

How about a challange for all you other wise ones to have a look in the shed, take out that old board and sail that you hang onto but will never use. Put it on the roof racks the next time you go sailing.
And see that young kid sitting just watching his mates out sailing, wishing he could get out.
Or the one that asks yuo how to get started.
Take that old board off the roof and just give it away.
Its the best feeling, seeing someone that wanted to, that couldn't afford it at the time learn to sail on his or her very own board.
I gave away my old bombora and I still see it on the water (not in my shed)

Nick....Hope you get all of your mates into sailing. You will have some awsome sailing trips with your mates when you get older.
And Nicks parents...This sport isn't just for the kids......
I was windsurfing when I was 16 and now 37 I sail with my wife and daughter 10 years old. Take it on you won't regret it.

yeah sounds good,i sail dinghies, i might go windsurfing tomorrow arvo 4ish if can get lift to willi beach and wind is 12-22 from south.ill be using np slalom waves from early 90s which i like. im more just trying to chase up some more gear so i can make two complete setups (which im close to) so its easier to convince people to come along.

Nick, if you want the gear, (and I did say it was old,) you're more than welcome to it, and I reckon there's other gear around thew town that a few guys should let go of as well... the boards, are bombora (pink plastic) tri-fin wave boards, 2 masts, (I can measure them, 1 aluminium, 1 fibreglass), sails, (I think I have at least 4...I can measure them if you're still keen).
The main reason I didn't get anywhere with them is that I'm over 100kgs, and I bought them at a sale from a guy that was approx 60-70kgs, he did race and was sponsored by "Peter Jackson cigarettes" shows the age...at least 25yrs old stuff. No experience means no floating!!!
Freaky, I was talking to a mate today about doing a tip run as I thought that no-one would want the gear!!!
