What do you guys do when passing time for the wind, i just sit there and get bord and than even more bord, and by the time the wind comes im asleep, so there must be a better way to pass time while down at the beach

Hey jord, I built a landsailor board and put my 6.6mtr on it. it really moves in light wide on concrete or hard pack dirt. maybe that could be something you can try? I havent used mine in a while but I should crack it on on the light wind days and go to a park.

If possible don't wait for the wind at the beach!
That's a recipe for stopping it alltogether!!

Check this site every 1/2 hour or so and get on with something productive at home. Or get an SMS alert sent to your phone.

surf, great balance between the 2, and I only started surfing last summer for this very reason, got over waiting for the wind, now somedays, I get a little annoyed when the breeze kicks in! But when its windy the surfboard doesnt get a look in!

Hey Jord, your right about maybe breaking gear on the landsailor, i think u have to be extra careful ie dont get too much speed, I cant image its good catapulting onto the dirt or concrete hey! I use my good 6.6 and 460 mast but should really be on an old sail and one peice mast hey. Might give that a try next time.

I reckon md has it sorted, surfing would be the go. I dont own a surf board. how do windsurf boards handle as surf boards? I image they would make do?

Surprising how stiff they are without a rig on, I have done it but it's far from ideal.
Some smart a$$ asked me how often I got in the straps!
Whatever you do wear a rashie or something, otherwise the non skid will tear you apart.

nah forget using your board to surf, they are crap! go spend 150 bucks at any second hand surf store, and learn to surf, its awesome.

If you havent surfed, talk to someone in a good surf shop, they will probably steer you onto like a 7'6" or so.

Winter time on the goldy is awesome for surfing! you get 4 months with no wind, I surfed every day of that, because i was learning, I just kept going in, day after day for a few hours.

Im actually looking forward to this winter, big swell, offshore breeze, and now I can surf it will be great fun.

Failing all that, masturbation works.

never too late to learn to surf!

my ideal day is this:

get to beach around 8am, surf for 2 hours, walk to coffee shop around corner, sit, relax, eat.

wait for n/easter to kick in, go back to car rig up, hit the waves for a 3 hour jump session!

doesnt happen that often, but this summer at least 9 times so far, great day!

Rustle and Kana both also carry their surfboards in the car all the time, if it aint windy, get in the water and hit some waves! of course you need to be a near a beach though!
