I Feel your pain as did many others who have bought those **** boxes.
To fix it properly u will need to cut the bastard out and bang a new one in thier as the f2 ones are ****house (held in by staples believe it or not)Dont bother with trying to keep patching leaks as it wont work. I used a router to cut away the deck and foam. but u can use what ever as long as u get it squared up nice and even but dont go too deep or u'll have a hole in the bottom as well. Then get yourself some divinicell and cut it into rectangles to fit in the hole that u have just created in your board. I used 12mm thickenes so u will have to buy a sheet and layer it up to fill the depth of the hole, divinicell is about 60 bucks for a half a sheet and that should be enough to do the job with a bit left over for when it happens again.
Any way make sure u have enough sticking out above the level of the deck. cut strips of fiberglass as long and as wide as the hole is. u want to create a sandwhich between each rectangle piece of divinicell. Start with a sheet of glass on the veryy bottom then divinicell the glass etc until you have made it to the top. They should be a snug fit. then bang a heavy weight on it to compress it all until the resin goes off.
now with whatever tools u have get the deck leveled off nice and even
Hopefully u were smart enough to mark where the mast track was positioned centrally on the board. other wise the next step will be quite tricky.
with your new mast track, outline on the divinicell where it should go and use a router to cut out the hole to the required depth. if your hands are a bit shaky then make up a template and clamp it down. because u dont want to fu@#ck this part up.
now mix up some more resin and glue your mast track down into the hole. the resin should ooze up the sides as there are grooves in the mast track to give it grip. wipe of any excess and wait for it to go off.
Now give the deck a sand but dont sand the plastic off just thje grip smooth, u will need to glass over the top dont worry it sticks to the plastic coating fine. i used too layers and this can be done in the one hit. one smaller rectangle and one larger glassed completely over the new track. allow this to nearly go off and then use a stanley knife to cut out the hole where your uni joint goes.
when the resin has set sand it lightly and then use a spray on filla to ensure their aren't any pinholes in the glass as they will allow water in and u'r board will be totall screwed then.Get some yellow and red paint and paint it up nice and pretty like.
to renew the deck grip mix up some more resin and paint it onto the deck. now get some castor/brown or white sugar depending on how rough u like it and sprinkle it onto the wet resin. let the resin set and then rinse the sugar off with hot water. again b sure the resin has gone off properly or it wont work. once the sugar is gone little indentations are left providing nice grip.
if all this too much throw the f#$cker in the bin as i guarantee the next thing to break on it will be the seems on the side that u jump with.
happy sanding

Mate those boards are pretty much f#$ked construction wise.
Where abouts in north qld are u?
u could try cutting out around the bit thats cracking out dig some of the foam out and pour some resin in there with a bit of glass for stregth. be sure to glass over the top though as it will crack away again in a short time as i found out.

Great,
Just bought a 2nd hand 73 ltr of the same version for Stormin winds in Melbourne this winter. How crap are they? Will it survive a winter? The board looks to be in mint condition? Apart from contstruction are they a lemon like the colour?

Mine was an yellow and red F2 Axxis 84 litre with a seam down the sides, with plastic cover. 2 other guys with boards from that time period also had them and they both broke in the mast track first then the seams gave way then they found themselves in the bin or as coffe tables
I'f i were u laff77 i'd piss it off quick smart.
Just remeber we all live in cairns where there isnt any surf breaking boards like that shouldn't happen. The construction of them is crap. staples and chop strand glass and some dodgy looking type of imitation divinicell that goes goey when u sand it.
hows the wind been in blowin bowen?

I had a 2001 F2 which is an epoxy board not one of the yellow ones, where the mast track died... and filling the wholes with resin doesnt work... well it works untill u land ur next jump and then u gotta do it all over again... My F2 still has a big whole in it where i cut the mast track out. I dont think u will be able to reuse it normally it is stuffed, and its got resin stuck to it. Also you might need to replace the foam underneith, which is was i still have to do, cause when u pull out the mast track u will probably find that it is rotten and useless... if u dont replace that then replacing the mast track will prolly be a waste of time and money. If you want more detailed instructions email bluejuice.

the wind in bowen.. hmmm well i only been here for 3 days this time but it's ok.. i could do with either a bigger sail (the largest is a 5) or say 5knots more wind.. i would prefer the 5 knots more wind but the weekend is looking good.
i busted the board origionally at corro in feb.
the board is so fked now, i drain water out of it after every use.. it is my only board left and i have run out of money to buy another one.. what i need is some one to donate some money to me..
I ANNOUNCE THE HELP ME GET A NEW BOARD FUND..
