Kirra for me

(although the tide will be wrong as far as I can figure, still very much a surf newbie so willing to be corrected)

If kirra is deemed unsuitable then I may just toddle off to my first sailing spot, Cudgen lake at Cabarita. Ahhh the memories

Kirra sound okidoke to me outgoing tide till 3.30. Should have the flat water in the front and the ramps at the back. nne is ok there, ne is a bit tricky like last time nebs, In fact, that may have even had more east than north at times

Sunday looks promising. Northerly 20kt. Would that be good at Kirra?
Would it be starboard tack out?

Hmm ... port tack in the waves would be a novelty. I might learn a thing or two.

Hey Haircut,

Where were you?

I went out at Kirra, 12-17 knots, I had my sail bagged out without much downhaul 'cos the wind was a bit light on the beach, then when I got onto the water BANG in it came and the sail was a real handful. Only a couple of laps till I was b*ggered A couple of kiters were out enjoying the waves though.

Gestalt, sorry to hear that, you should have come down to Kirra and kept me company!!

Heya Nebs. I went down at about 10.30 this morning. Not a soul there excetp for a kiter pumping up near the groin @ pizza hut. It had a lot of east but it might have been strong to go out. I waited for a bit and then headed up the train. Was good when i got there and then it eased right back at about 1pm, and it started to rain.

I'm going to try to go to kirra for sunday coz the wind is looking better. Are you up for that?

Gday Haircut

Where abouts do you sail at Kirra hoping to get out tomorrow morning if the wind comes up, met you and Nebs last week at Shearwater if you remember. Any particular tide needed for Kirra? Where else would you go for a NE/NW? Sorry for all the questions.

Cheers
Luke

Hey Luke!

We usually rig up near the North Kirra surf life saving club, either side depending on car parking spaces, usually on the northern side near the kids play equipment. The waves should be pretty tame tomorrow. Hopefully more wind than today. High tide is about 12-ish, but low tide is generally the best. SHould be good either way. Might see u there

Hey Haircut,

Might have to give Kirra a miss tomorrow, want to go check out the old stomping ground of Cudgen Lake again. There's something about the surf that just knackers me, I spend all my time avoiding white water or waterstarting.
I really need to learn how to gybe reliably, only got one in today, so it's flat water for me...

Have fun tomorrow!
