Grr ..With my upper back problem its taken me months to build myself up so I can go out & sail & only feel stiff the next day rather than in bed with a headache..Im pretty sailing fit (for me) so I can start to try things & have the energy to waterstart all the time after I stuff up..the planets have aligned and we seem to be getting a really good season..AND NOW IVE #$$ up my B RIBS and been told I should take 4-6weeks off..[}:)][}:)]

Better not take that b long.. stay out of my way at the moment because I need to throw something at someone..[}:)]

Cross fingers then.. she said maybe sprain or fracture but I popped a few ribs out of positon last time I got bucked off my horse and its nowhere near as bad as that so hopefully just muscular..If only I hadnt gone back out & sailed for an hour & ignored the pain I prob would have been almost ok by now..[}:)] Do as I say ..not what I do..grr..oh well one week down..I assume if you dont notice any pain at home its time to experiment with a sail.. Mind you are a bit younger than me..I notice I dont bounce as well as i used too.. especially horse falls..

Ouch I feel for you.

I suggest pulling down the curtains when you're inside. Watching those trees bend when you can't sail is like putting a junky in rehab... or is that just me?

nope. that's all of us. a sign of the obsessed.

i spent eighteen months off water after a few rounds of surgury for a knee-blowout (wakeboarding), and i was almost insufferable. i don't know how my girlfriend put up with my grumpy-ar$e during that time!

best of luck with the healing!

Yep ..I went out to the lake today for other reasons and a NE started coming up but I told myself it was o/cast so it wouldnt be any good.. I tried telling the partner he should be more understanding about my love of sailboarding and that Id be a pain to live with if I couldnt go.. unfortunately as a counsellor I can't pull the wool over his eyes..grr
Well at least now I might get my Xmas portrait commissions done on time..if i dont spend all my time on seabreeze..I really feel for all of you that have had to spend months off the water.. arghh!! A few weeks is bad enough!
Luckily my ribs arent too bad..did you know you can stop a sneeze coming? I didnt.. but knowing how much it will hurt Ive got pretty good at stopping them!It wil be good when I can sleep on my side without having to put a pillow under me to take the pressure off them..

a sneeze is like an orgasim in that its an uncontrolable reflex function better not start stoping orgasims .good luck with the ribs i think from experieance you mighty have spearated them a bit hurts like hell but not reall bad for you streatching gentle massage, chocolate, fluffy slippers all help or in my case industrial painkillers and just keep sailing
