Hi all,
Just remembered to unscrew the decompression screw on my waveboard as it will be taking the plane with me on friday. But im also carrying a surfboard. Would that need some means of decompression?
Cheers

Hopefully if it hasn't got a bung it doesn't need it!
If it's an old conventional polyurethane-polyester construction, (clear fiberglass over white blank), that's closed cell foam, and unaffected by changes in pressure, (within structural limits of course)
Air in each cell cannot migrate thru the board, so there cannot be a build up at a weak spot, starting delamination.

don't worry about your windsurfer either.

the parrots and pythons in your fibrespar mast sleeves.......seal the ends and put lots of cotton wool in the airspaces.

I was wondering cause the board is new.. last time i travelled with a surfboard it wasnt completely sealed so i didnt worry about it . Havent sealed the ends of my mast tho, i did put cotton stuff at the ends to protect it from impacts, its in its bag and in the boardbag. worked fine last time.
Thanks for the tips fellas!

hey x-man,looks like you wont need your surfboard. Did you check the wind forecast for the next few days? Its been dismal the last few weeks but starting to blow on Saturday just in time and building rite through to Wednesday...

Could be awesome, one more sleep, off to Perth tonite.... but take your surfboard anyway so just not to jinx it...

Cu out at Manawa
