Hey Al, had my 1st sail at Pt danger back in March great spot worth the drive if a solid SW forcast, also I think the tide has to be taken into consideration, when we got their we had to wait for the wind and the water to cover the reef. That time of the year their was about 30 sailors on the water of all different skill levels I was definatly at the lower end of them.

I was there a couple of years ago and all the windsurfing shops had closed, and some kite shops opened

Pt Danger works in most Southerlies SW thru to East.

Tide doesn't really matter except for the reef.

It is great for all levels. I know that cause I can even sail there.

If you really want waves then 20+kts is the go and SW lines up nicely with one of the breaks.

Easty, how's things?

I am at the moment working on some scam that will have Sheryl unwittingly suggest I not worry about gardening(forced labour), and go for a drive to Pt Danger/13th beach tomorrow.

But I need help in formulating the planned reason.

Torquay/Pt Danger gets good from about now till about easter, when the SE-SW blows. Stonker now stocks windsurfing stuff. There are quite a few locals that sail most days of the year, but definatly more in the warmer months, and after work once daylight savings hits. Some good weekends in summer, it get really packed out. But Pt Danger can hold alot of windsurfers on a high tide. Just ask someone who looks like they have sailed there before to tell you about the reefs to watch out for on low tide.

Its my second go at SUP. The current in there was quite stong, lots of sideways chop, so I was quite unstable. I had a good go a couple of months ago, out off the end of the Pt. It is fun.

Did you get to sail ?
