god damn i am going crazy with all this light wind sailing. I am in margaret river at the moment and am lucky to get out once a week. it still cool fun to grovel out and surf in but i want to do some jumping again. oh the woe..
does the wind come back in a month (so that you can sail at least twice a week or is it like this all winter..??
Did anyone find enough wind to sail anywhere around Perth/Safety Bay etc yesterday (Sat) or today (Sun)????? We need an indoor windsurfing arena for days like this.
Don't worry Curac, another 2 months and you'll be able to sail twice a week no worries. Hope you have a 4m Dunno about Margies in winter though...... If it's too onshore there, a good blow will make the drive to Augusta worth it. Else if you're in Perth for winter, try Crazy Waves, just south of South Beach, in a westerly thru to northwesterly
What's Margarets been like in Feb/March. I was there for most of Jan and also around XMAS, and had lots of sailing. I'm hoping I didn't miss out on too much since then.
Lesley i sailed Scarborough on Sat, Wind was light at first but pick up at around 5pm heaps of swell though a few big bombs snuck through i was using a 5.5
mmmmm...nsw, gotta love it a great week over here with 4 sailable days, 1 nearly not sailable!! rosey
strange thing is, if you went by the seabreeze graph, you'd recon nsw never had wind! It hardly ever gets out of the red. Maybe they need to move the weather station to a better spot so we can get a proper reading.
so where is everyone going tomorrow? i got the day off anyone going out in the morning in the SE? or do you think the arvo would be better with the SW? how realiable do you think the SW will be for the arvo? gusty? consistant? im really not keen on these non seabreeze winds? if you can call tomorrow a seabreeze? looks more like a front with all the rain?
nature is mocking me .. today is gotten to windy for my smallest sail working sail.. (which is a 5.0) it must be gusting 40knots at margs today..
to who every asked what margs is like in feb march.. i don't know a feb but march is pretty ****ty when i first arrived here at the beginning of march is was ok.. llight winds but enough to get out and surf in.. and the waves were ok.. but late march was ****. just once a week kind of thing.
HOLY @#$% how windy rainy and cold was it not to mention it still is i had a crack at lunch time and my smallest sail being a 4.2m i had no hope i didnt even hook in from fear of breaking myself or gear i was on survival runs and even got the boom ripped clear out of my hands in an unexpected gust lucky i wasnt hooked in bouncing around like a mofo my scrawny frame and tiny muscles cant handle these strong winds damn im a whoos anyway at least the wind was over 15knots i hope everyone else had some fun
march april and early may in victoria were always very stable windless months. Good for fishing. June onward will probably start to get some good winter blows.
Greenroom you big pansie... Wasnt too windy on the river, just very gusty, how ****... oh well Hey Steph, Dave, Bertie and Simon, you guys end up heading out at cott??? how was it, I need a smaller sail
Yer, simo, bertie and i went out. dave wrapped himslef in a sleeping bag It was pretty nuts at dutchies. could have used a 3.3 or something but i think everyone else needed one too
