Yeah I thought Qld very rarely got strong winds for any length of time.... maybe 15-17 for a week, but not good 20-25+ for a week at this time of the year?????

I mean when you think windy in Aus, you think WA upper west like Geraldton in summer, and southern places like Tas - Vic in winter.

I am suprised, I used to feel sorry for the Qld guys but not anymore ;-)

Then again that section can't account for local conditions I guess. We were not on the list but I have had 3 prett good wave-sailable days this week and one of those was 5.3 - 5.7 weather and Reeeaallly glassy shoulder-hi down the line waves. mmmmmmmmm
but we were not on the list as others were windier.

Might as well go tuna fishing on friday......make the most of the doldrums. Can't even fly a flag in 7kts!!!

Have altered my avatar to suit my mood.

agree guys it hurts big time when the doldrums hit.

we had our share just recently. no wind for 2 months except if you could get out mid week. and this time of year it usually cranks.

now for me is where the best memories are. lots of cranking SE's. finally we have some good winds. the guys in the brisbane to gladstone that is on at this time every year are in for a treat with 20-30 knot SE all the way.......

i think the windiest place would have to be grren island. lucky troppo and telecomgreg. every time i look at the graphs up there it reads 20-30 knots. it just keeps blowing and blowing.

qld is mainly known for it's 15 knot NE seabreeze. good on the formula kit. means i can just go to the beach and plane all arvo. the 8.5m will plane in 8 knots. but i prefer this time of year where we should get strong SE-S winds.

winter is not too bad either. the Westerlies and SW usually are pretty strong. but i've probably envoked huey now.

but for the real blasts. SE are the go.
