Good to hear from someone on the local front. I haven't sailed there personally, but if you're looking at flat-water, the main beach at Pt Fairy looks pretty good, (Sou-Westerlys mainly lately) there's a good grassy patch to rig up on near the Yacht club(or Surf Lifesaving Club? not sure.) Anyway, just going off what I remember last time I was there, and there was a windsurfer (yes, WA & QLD, just one!!!) out enjoying the 20-25kt conditions. If I wasn't attending a friend's wedding service on the beach, I would've joined him.
If you're heading there on a weekend, send me a message & I'll try to get over, a 40min drive for a good sail is well worth it, (or you'll catch me at one of the local Portland spots.) Generally, around here, if the wind's good, you've got the beach and water to yourself!
