Hi,

I am going to Sydney the 8th of April and will be travelling around the coast in search for good surfing and hopefully some windsurfing. I am going back from Brisbane 3 weeks later. Which spots are good in this period? Is it possible to rent gear at these spots? How much wind is to be expected? Conditions: flat, waves or bump and jump?

Is it possible to get some long term deals on rental gears? Or does anybody have a complete used kit for sale? (Equipment suitable for prevailing conditions...my weight is 73 kg. Is big slalom or maybe Formula the way to go in this windless (?!) period?! My biase is a little bit on the race side but a like waves as well if the wind is ok for that)

Are there any good deals on rental cars for 3 weeks?

-Cheers,

Anywhere in Queensland has potential in April. The further North the better. The SE blows this time of year. Gear rental in QLD. ????? Dunno.

for queensland i think some of the brisbane and sunshine coast guys are off to elliot heads at bundaberg over easter. great spot. caravan park is on the beach. you can sail the flat water or head out into the surf.

try padi as previously posted he has good gear and ask him about elliot heads.

or pete at caloundra wind and surf. pete may also be able to give you some advice on shipping. he sends gear to germany and does a fair bit of travel to europe himself....

Hi,

Thanks for good tips. Do you have an e-mail to some shops in Sydney?

I'm plan to stay in Sydney for 4-5 days, than head north to the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast for surfing and windsurfing. Where exactly I will go depends on where good windsurfingspots and rental gears can be found. For surfing, I at least want to go to Noosa, Byron Bay and Superbanks. I surfed the Internet and it looks like there should be pretty OK windsurfing in these areas and some rental equipment. Yet, one of the shops rented out Tiga 260-275 (at least 10 years old I guess?!) for more than 50 USD a day!!! There must be some cheaper and better places, right?!

-Cheers,

Daniel
