hi any tips on how to get started - i have a bombora with 5mt mast and 2mt boom - it was a gift by a friend years ago and never used until now

i feel that the sail may be a little too big for a beginner any tips?

thanks

What sort of Bombora is it and what size is the sail?

Depending on the size of the bombora, old boards are not as easy to learn on as the newer, wider boards. Best advice if you want to save yourself hours of frustration would be to get something newer, wider and about 150L in size.

Sail sizes less than 5 square metres will also make things easier.

Best to get some proffessional lessons if you don't know anyone who can show you the ropes.

Windsurfing can be very frustrating to learn but the results are worth it!

hey sal

if you live up in northnern beaches then just pick a windy day and head on down to lake narrabeen - there is a bunch of old codgers who live on the water up there who would probably be happy to give ya a hand or a few tips.

alturnatively make a trip down to botany as there is always a bunch of us old codgers down here as well who will be glad to help ya out.

Listen to Road, right advice (if you live in Sydney).

Make sure you choose a spot with a nice on-shore wind. Almost guaranteed at Narrabeen.

Yeah, inside Palm Beach not bad.
Narrabeen is OK if you go when the wind is with the length of the lake, i.e. NEster.
Don`t go on a southerly.
