The meet this saturday the 11th will definately go ahead regardless of wind strength. what we will do is pick the Redcliffe venue that works the best for the wind we get.

so

if the wind is from the W, SW or S then pelican park is the location.
if the wind is from the SE then we head to Suttons,
if the wind is North, NE or East then we go to Queens beach north.

the good thing about redcliffe is that it will work in almost any wind direction and all of the locations are within 15 minutes of each other.

i will definately give you a heads up closer to saturday when the forecast firms up, maybe thursday night.

With all of these events i also try and plan something that isn't so reliant on wind. for this meet it's the gearswap. usually we get a great turn out for swaps and they are loads of fun when theres no wind. also when the winds lighter the famillies in the group tend to get more involved.

as well as that there's the food and the beverages....

my gut feel at this point is we'll get a N-NE breeze about 10-15 knots... only time will tell and we still got a week for things to happen weather wise.

Great to hear and its great to use a venue WW hasnt used b4! Yes, last couple of days there has been a good seabreeze, yesterday 12-15kts, today 14/15kts but didnt kick in till like 3 each day. I'll take people wakeboarding if there's no wind

it will be a good party if nothing else and i think we'll get a seabreeze. it's hotter tomorrow then the last few days and there has been some arvo seabreezes happening.

If westerly, we can always consider Scarborough up the road? Plenty of parking and nice grass rigging area.

BOM forecast: Saturday: W/SW winds 10/15 knots increasing 15/20 knots in the morning and then tending N/NW in the afternoon.

Scarbby will work half way down the beach on a NE, and certainly ok for N/NW/W, might be a wiser location Justin? At least people can still sail whether it stays as a Westerly or a seabreeze comes in. I'll have boat handy if anyone does get stuck out there.

Hi everyone !! So.....do we have a venue? Tomorrow will be my first time to a WindWanderers event. Will you meet at 1pm, bbq etc then sail, or get out there early. Tide's out in the middle of the day.

BOM has added the N/NE seabreeze this arvo so hopefully it will come in n good to sail at Queens too - Saturday until midnight: NW/SW winds 10/15 knots, increasing to 15/20 knots during the morning. NE/N seabreezes during the afternoon.

I'll be at Scarby till the seabreeze kicks in. All westerly before then.

i had a couple of people say they didn't realise it was on till the last minute so i am thinking i might not have sent out a newsletter.

we didn't get any sailing done as the wind was light. the freestyle guys went out and mucked around, had some fun, and the 12m formula guys sailed too.

all and all it was a very relaxing time..... surfconnect brought their kite team riders too so it was a good mix.

i'll send out an email next time.
