Very kind of you bigdog, we all make the GTC what it is, because we all love windsurfing, and thanx to the sponsors Dave at Gybesports and Tabou, KA Sails, Hydrodynamix Booms, and Choco Fins, just adds the icing on the already rich cake. And hasn't Nebb's just created a brilliant websire for us!!!!!!!!!!!!

Like Hardie said,

Many thanks Bigdog

I was stoked with the turnout, and am always amazed at how successful the GTC is becoming... As you said, let's not forget the sponsors, without whom we wouldn't have such awesome prizes to give away.

Many thanks to David at Gybesports, KA Sails, Hydrodynamix booms, Choco fins, and of course the other evil genius behind this site, Hardie! He's always very enthusiastic and doesn't waste a second in praising people who have done well, always has a smile on his face, what a great man

Great stuff guys!!

Also, big thanks to Claude for being generous enough to donate his 6.6 KA Koncept to a draw for the juniors! Claude, you would have smashed your PBs with that sail

Same from me, that was one of the best days out for the Challange. Look forward to seeing some of the photo's of the start of the race. From reports, it looked spectacular from the shore line.
Looks like Hardie and Nebs legend just got bigger
Maybe next year you two can "leave" you names in the draw, maybe?

Yeah the start was a bit of a snafu...

I thought I told everyone about the new start time, but obviously I didn't tell the one guy who decided he would become the starting gun...

Not to worry, it was a great day

that was funny- Hardie had confidently stated to me that there would be an extension of 15 minutes to the start so he could get out there . If its any consolation Hardie, I had just picked my rig up and was walking to the water when they took off. But you were within a frustrating few steps of being in the mix... if only hey... what if... ahhhh the anguish of it all.

As the old saying goes

"It's easier to herd cats then to get windsurfers organised"

So what happened on Sunday counts as an epic achievement in organisation.

Bigdog mentioned that Hardie gave a briefing about the rocks (boondies) and other dangers, Sorry I missed it.

Thanks to the GPSTC team.

That was kind of funny how the race started? a few voicing "whats bloody going on, we starting or what" (it was ten past original start time).
I turned to Ben who was to the rear at the top of the line and he was bellowing as loud as he could with his arm skywards, fingers spread, "five minutes guys, five minutes"
I turned to see who and what had heard him, some how, and I dont know what language it was deciphered as to mean "GO" because the front runners down the line just took off like scalded cats leaving a few who had still not made it to the start line, stranded on the sand bar some 50 meters back
A great many made it down and back in one run, other scalded cats,[}:)] unfortunately found the uphill run meant being forced off into the shallow snot fields down wind and needing a tack back out, to make it back to the sand bar
Was bloody good fun just competing and observing some of the antics

Thanks to all involved in Sunday. I was great to catch up with so many people ( and be left behind by many)
What I still do not understand was the attraction of the rocks to so many body and rig parts? There was even a map showing the hazards!!![}:)]
Lets do it again soon. Maybe there will be wind all day

Just another voice to say "Thanks Fellas", for all your efforts with Sunday and GPSTC for another year - it's a fantastic thing you've created. I think I can safely say the WWA Committee is most grateful for all you are doing for the sport.
Cheers
Dan
