Has anyone done it? Obviously most people have outhaul adjustment but has anyone experimented with adjustable downhaul. I think it'd be a pretty useful application for races like the Lano Ocean Classic or other marathons if the wind filled in or dropped off.

rsx's and bic techno's use it but i don't think it's worth it on anything other than those dedicated race sails that are designed to run a wider range of leach tensions

It so much depends on which sail you are using...

Works great on the rsx but havent used it on ony other type of sail not sure if some of the formula guys are using one or not. Btw checked out the rsx worlds happening in cadiz at the moment racing cancelled today due to strong winds so they held a speed event on rsx gear. Top speed of nearly 32knts in gusts up to 50knts. Bet they had their adjustable downhauls block to block in that wind.

it would be cool but would the hassle be worth it, i love my north shox as its easy to adjust the downhaul just before the run and while your on the shallow sand bar 300m from dry land, EASY AS,

they need maintanance tho, and a lot of lovin, gentle hands, care, knowledge, a few repair skills.....

grrrrrr hate shox.... sometimes
