On the drive back from Hyden today I had a thought.
For tied results, how about changing the number of contributors to the team score?
Going down to one person would find the team with the best individual, but going up to 3 people would find the team with better depth, personally I think this is the better way.
And if it's still a tie, go to 4 people, etc.

Crank up that saw Hardie.

I'm cool to have the cup cut in half - makes for a fine story.

Assuming all the results are in, well done to the PiT Crew. You guys had some excellent peaks and 2secs there that held you at the top of the month rankings. We were keen to try and crank some distance to get the lead, but at this time of year, there just aren't the consistent wind forecasts to do it.

Just shows that you need to jump on the windy days early in the month when they happen as there is no guarantee that you'll get them later.

Our beloved Clayton Channel should start to fill up soon (good rains in July and earthworks nearly complete). Pity, that was a good spot...

Grab the drop saw Hardie. It was a good battle all month and that one good sw day just let us hang on for the draw. I wasn,t too keen to sail another big distance in the month, too cold and broke two toes kicking into the straps. Sorry to see Clayton Channel go under hope you find another spot "almost" as good The overall is getting interesting too.

Congratulations to both teams, If a perfect Cut could be made would make a good story, however they don't call me the Butcher from Buones Aires for nothing. 1 cup each I say 4 Joint Winners of Winter Cup!!

Hardie's right, if we're going to cut the cup in half then it has to be done properly.

I'm happy to sort out the logistics of this, so long as I can find someone who has the skill and equipment to make a nice clean straight cut (there's nothing in my shed that would go close to doing the job).

Also we do need to wait for any overseas butterflies to make it home.

Personally I think a half-cup would make far more of a talking point than a full one...

I suppose a plasma cutter would be out of the question?

In fact I am sure I could get my brother to do any board and sail modifications for the other teams with the cutter as well

I favour a cut cup as a great talking point.
Unless there is a GTCer to do the cut I reckon get a price to cut in case it is prohibitive

It's a long story snides, but it's a very impressive place.

Super scary standing underneath the rock and imagining it as a real wave lipping over ready to break on your head, and to think some guys ride stuff this big.

The info we got says it's 15m high, and although it's not the only example of this geological formation, it's the biggest in the world.

Decrepit has the right idea - count back using a set number of persons from each team. That's why its a team thing. Lets others know that their efforts might count in the end (when a tie occurs). Maybe two cups or two half cups this time...but plan for the next time.

an idea for the costs.......for GTC

maybe if every cup handed out is kept till the next winter one or summer ect.the team that has won it has the responserbility of getting there team name ingraved and then when it is that cup month is again the next year they will pass it on to them and so forth this should keep the cost down and that way it should keep some gtc HISTORY !
