almost twice around the equator Hardpole...none the less an incredible feat albeit I suspect he either has; a "tools down if wind >10knots" clause in his work contract, works nights, or not at all

Would be great if Pete himself told us a bit of his habits, how he did it, etc. Guessing a jibe every 3 kms it makes about 27,000 jibes !

I started GPSTC 6 years ago, turned 55 and retired from work a year later, just turned 60 last week so basically can sail whenever there's enough wind.
I live at Noosa so most of my sailing is at Lake Weyba [8.5kms] from home and Lake Cootharaba [22.5kms] away. Both are sailable 270degrees from NW to SW with very little tide movement so depth stays pretty constant. Run lengths vary from 3-9 km depending on wind directions, wind strengths when we have it is usually 10-20 kts, not much windier than that to often so 7.0,7.8 & 8.6 mainly used.
We seme to get plenty of sailable days here, I normally manage to get in over 200 sessions a year, best month I had was Feb-2016 when we had a lot of good SE's. I sailed 23 out 29 days & clocked up 2,470 Kms.

What is impressive is that Peter has done these KM in a shorter time than people who have been posting in GPSTC.
Peter 12 600 KM per year. Number 1
Glynn 4 450 KM per year. Number 2.

Glynn has a life and windsurfing is a hobby, which is great for a sound and balanced mind.

Well Done Peter ,more time on the water the more you will improve
